Overview of Internet Radio Stations
When I was little, we used to listen to international stations on my father's shortwave radio, a Telefunken Bajazzo. I loved hearing the chimes of Big Ben on the BBC World Service at the top of the hour. And there was always the hunt for the particular channel that a broadcaster was using at a particular time. We used a paper guidebook from Radio Shack to find the right channel.
Today, I listen to many more stations from around the world with greater reliability and audio fidelity on the Internet. Below, are a few of my favorite broadcasters.

Airplaying from Safari
On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, using the Safari web browser, you should see an Airplay icon on the audio control bar. You can then select a compatible speaker, Apple TV or other device to which to stream audio. For example, I use this web page on my iPhone to stream a radio station's audio via Airplay to my Sonos speakers.
Casting from Google Chrome
Similarly, if you use the Google Chrome web browser, you can cast audio from a tab. Open the Settings menu, select "Cast..." Then select the device to which you desire to cast audio.
